Planned activities for the November 2003

Planned activities for the Movement members, Representatives and Local Councils

The Movement is urging all the members, Chapters and all the officials of the Movement to start with registration of the Movement at the local officials in the respected Region, City or town.

Every appointed official person delegated, or selected by the Movement SC (Supreme Council) is asked to take responsibility in organising the infrastructure of the Movement in his/her town, city or Region. The needed activities would be :

  • preparing the documentation for the Chapter (local Program)
  • collecting the signatures of the members and friends of the Movement
  • updating the membership status, and
  • registration of the Chapter at the local police or other responsible body.

After that, the Chapter should form the Organising Commitee which would be responsible to declare the Statute of the Chapter as well as to select the body of the Council. For the details on the structure of the Council, please read the Statute of the Movement. At the same time, the new-elected body should declare the Program and the Plan of the Chapter during the mandate of the newly elected Council. The Plan should be in the spirit of the Idea of the Movement and should fulfill the goals of the particular Region (see the Regions of the Movement).

Program and Statute

The Chapter should write its own Program and Statute that is in compliance with the Program and Statute of the Movement, but should also include further sentences that is best-suited for the local activities and situation. (the Idea of the Movement)

The Chapter should be defined as the humanitarian, religious, cultural, recreational, or social organisation of individuals. Referring the Organisation as the political one is not allowed in any way, and will not be recognised by the Movement.

Symbols

For the details on the logo, coat of arms, the flag, and the seal of the Neobyzantine Movement, please visit the page on describing symbols of the Movement.

coat of arms

We suggest You to use Photoshop or other convenient program for the graphic editing of an image You have downloaded previously.

The only needed change is adding the title of Your Chapter at the bottom of an image, by using the Neobyzantine or NB-Byzantine font (You can download needed fonts from the download section), and adding the National, Regional, or other symbol in the frame of the shield of an image.

Details

The official coat of arms of the Neobyzantine Movement is displayed above. It is the two-headed Byzantine eagle, with the sword in the right arm and a bowl in the left. The two-headed eagle was a symbol of the Roman, and later, of the Byzantine Empire from the very beginning of its existence. Two heads directed to the East and West were symbols of the Byzantine orientation - neither on the East or the West, Byzantines were the Nation that lived, and changed the world by its very existence only.

The sword symbolises the struggle and the power of the Byzantine Nation, as well as the ability to defend and be together in a critical situation.

The bowl is the symbol of the Earth and the world domination of the Byzantine Empire during centuries. It also symbolises the Ecumenical and Pan-cosmical mission of the Byzantine Empire on Earth - to spread Christianity and Orthodoxy to the furthest point of the world. It is also the symbol of our diversity, because the Byzantine Nation today is spread throughout the world and the bowl represents our Unity.

Three crowns are symbols of our three Empires - one was the (Rome and) Byzantium, the other was the Russian Empire, and the third and the biggest represents the future State of New Byzantium, and our will to Unite and live together from now on.

The flag

If You would like to download the coat of arms with the shield set to transparent (in order to place the template in front of your symbol), please download the transparent .gif template of the flag (27 KB)

The official flag of the Neobyzantine Movement consists of a two-headed eagle (as described by the coat of arms of the Neobyzantine Movement), placed on a yellow background. The similar form of flag was used by the Byzantine Empire in the late centuries.

In the centre of the flag, placed on the chest of an eagle is the shield (in purple), which should be filled with the national or regional symbol or flag, of the particular Movement's Chapter. (see "the National or Regional Symbol..")

Other form of the flag that could be used is the one with black background, and the silhouette of the coat of arms in yellow. The shield still could carry the national symbol in full colour. That form of the flag should be used in the time of the war or other similar situation. In other cases it would not be allowed to display it. The emergency situation is declared by the Council of the Chapter, and must be approved by the Supreme Council to come into place.

National or Regional symbol..

The Council has the right to put its own symbol in the shield situated on the chest of an eagle. That should be national symbol like flag, national coat of arms, or some regional symbol in order to distinguish that particular Chapter. After the selection of the symbol that is to be displayed, please inform us in order to register that information or to consult if any problems would spring up.
