The official coat of arms of the Neobyzantine Movement is displayed above. It is the two-headed Byzantine eagle, with the sword in the right arm and a bowl in the left. The two-headed eagle was a symbol of the Roman, and later, of the Byzantine Empire from the very beginning of its existence. Two heads directed to the East and to the West were symbols of the Byzantine orientation - neither the East or the West, Byzantines were the Nation that lived, and changed the world by its mere existence, on both sides of the world.

The sword symbolises the struggle and the power of the Byzantine Nation, as well as the ability to defend, and be together in critical situations.

The bowl is the symbol of the Earth and the world domination of the Byzantine Empire during centuries. It also symbolises the Ecumenical and Pan-cosmical mission of the Byzantine Empire on Earth - to spread Christianity and Orthodoxy to the furthest point of the world. It is also the symbol of our diversity, because the Byzantine Nation today is spread throughout the world and the bowl represents our Unity.

Three crowns are symbols of the three Empires - one was the (Rome and) Byzantium, the other was the Russian Empire, and the third and the biggest represents the future State of New Byzantium, and our will to Unite and live together from now on.

To define Local, Regional, and National Chapters, a respected unique symbol should be placed at the shield at the chest of an eagle. To find out more on the symbol, see the "National or Regional symbol..".

An official flag of the Neobyzantine Movement consists of a two-headed eagle (as described by the coat of arms of the Neobyzantine Movement), placed on a yellow background. Proportions of the flag are 4 : 3 (horizontal : vertical ratio), and an eagle is placed in the middle of the flag with the wingspan of maximum 75% of the entire width of the flag. The background colour is described with #FFFF00 hex value (yellow), or RGB(255,255,0), or CMYK(9,0,93,0) values.

The similar form of flag was used by the Byzantine Empire in the late centuries.

In the centre of the flag, placed on the chest of an eagle is the shield (in purple), which should be filled with the national or regional symbol or flag, of the particular Movement's Chapter. (see "the National or Regional Symbol..")

Other form of the flag that could be used is the one with black background, and the silhouette of the coat of arms in yellow. The shield still could carry the national symbol in full colour. That form of the flag should be used in the time of the war or other similar situation. In other cases it would not be allowed to display it. The emergency situation is declared by the Council of the Chapter, and must be approved by the Supreme Council to come into power.

The Seal of the Chapter

An official Seal of the Neobyzantine Movement is consisted of the circle ino which is placed the two-headed eagle (as described by the coat of arms above). Around the circle, on the exterior is an inscription : "NEOBYZANTINE MOVEMENT - ΝΕΟΡΩΜΑΪΚΟ ΚΙΝΗΜΑ - НОВОВИЗАНТИНСКИ ПОКРЕТ - НОВОВИЗАНТИЙСКОЕ ДВИЖЕНИЕ", and could also include the name of the Movement in other languages.

The other inscription should carry the Local or Regional Chapter's name and the name of the town/city it is situated in. The symbol of the Chapter should be placed into the shield (as described by the National or Regional Symbol).

The final definition and the graphical representation of the Seal of a Chapter must be represented to the Supreme Council, with the original graphical data file that is to be used to create the seal at the manufacture. (prefered programs for the design are Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw).

National or Regional symbol..

The Council has the right to put its own symbol on the shield situated in front of the chest of an eagle. That should be a national symbol like flag, national coat of arms, or some regional symbol in order to distinguish that particular Chapter. After the selection of the symbol, Chapters are asked to inform the Supreme Council in order to register that information, or to consult if any problems springs up. After that, the symbol of the Chapter becomes official and could be displayed.

Selection of a Local and National Chapter are under the supervision of both the Local Council and the National/Regional Councils. The final approval comes from the Supreme Council, and the decision in the case of a dispute among the lower Councils.
